Employment Advice in NHS Talking Therapies

Anyone receiving or waiting for treatment from City and Hackney Talking Therapies can also receive information, advice, and guidance from our Employment Advice team about any work issue they may have, whether to get support to stay in their current job, to return to work after sick leave, or to find a job.

City and Hackney has been part of EAs in NHS Talking therapies (previously EAs in IAPT) since its inception in 2018. As we are a long established, effective, and well-respected Employment Advice service, we were asked to host a visit from the Deputy Director of the Joint Work & Health Directorate (DWP) and the Deputy Director of Mental Health Policy and Delivery from the Department for Health & Social Care, along with other colleagues from the DWP. They wanted to hear firsthand how we operate and successfully work together in providing our patients with combined therapeutic treatment and employment advice to help remain in or find work.
